on juliet starlings ( voiced by tara robust in english and eri kitamura/yō ;ko hikasa in japanese ) eighteenth birthday, she goes to actually san romero secondary school park to satisfy her boyfriend, nick carlyle ( voiced by michael rosenbaum in english and kenichi suzumura in japanese ) who goes to satisfy her family for your own 1st time. unfortunately, a zombie outbreak has occurred, that ends up in juliet fighting off hordes of undead on her approach to satisfy nick. when she arrives, she discovers nick fighting off a zombie that was aiming to eat her, and thus nick is bitten in her place. realizing he is going to elevate to a zombie, juliet decides she should decapitate him to avoid wasting him.
when he involves, nick discovers he's somehow still alive, despite become a severed head, and thus juliet reveals to actually him that she may be a zombie hunter, which she performed a magical ritual on him that keeps his soul from changed into a zombie and retaining his humanity, therefore explaining his continued existence currently being a severed head. juliet attaches nicks head to actually her belt, and she fights hordes of zombies on her approach to satisfy her tutor, morikawa ( voiced by keone young ). once they will are united, morikawa explains the situation, and explains that the universe is divided into 3 realms : earth, the land beyond words, and therefore the rotten world, an infernal realm where demons and zombies reside. morikawa tells juliet and nick that someone has cracked open a portal between earth and therefore the rotten world by a mixture of black magic and explosives, and morikawa sets out to locate the culprit.
juliet reunites once more with morikawa once fighting zombies intent on blowing her to actually oblivion, and finds the man or woman accountable for the outbreak, an evil goth named swan ( voiced by sean gunn in english and nobuhiko okamoto in japanese ) however she can't stop him from summoning 5 demons towards the world, that use the kind of zombies centered around themes of rock and roll. morikawa tries to actually stop swan from unleashing the demons, however he's mortally wounded.
